My Samorga Bag Organizer

Saint Laurent Tote

I recently purchased this Saint Laurent shopping tote. And as soon as I bought it, I knew a bag organizer was next on my shopping list.

As much as I love the open nature of the tote, the inability to organize my things inside just wasn’t going to work for me. Also, being an unlined bag, I feared that the items inside could end up damaging the leather, as I noticed certain objects creating indents on the bag’s exterior. Although it never had a lasting effect, I feared after time it could.

YSL Samorga Review

For those that don’t know, Samorga is an independently owned brand of bag organizers with tons of sizes and options for almost any bag you own. And although it took me a long time to decide which organizer I wanted, I knew almost right away I’d be buying a Samorga.

This was partly due to rave reviews of the organizers, but also because of the numerous options available. While most other brands only offer things like ‘small’, ‘medium’, or ‘large’, Samorga offers almost any size and color you can imagine.

Because this style of this Saint Laurent bag is rather new, Samorga doesn’t make an organizer for this specific design (although it does for many others, including the Louis Vuitton Neverfull and Speedy).

Therefore, after comparing numerous options, I chose this organizer, which is originally designed for the Hermes Kelly.

You might notice that this organizer is slightly smaller than the handbag’s dimensions. I did this, first, because I wanted the bag to keep it’s slouchy nature. If the organizer was bigger, it could press up and make it look box-like. Second, I chose this size because I also wanted to be able to slide my laptop in alongside it — on the outside of the organizer.

For these two reasons, I’m extremely happy with the size I chose and it’s functionality in my bag. I can fit all my necessities — and then some — and I’m never digging through a pit of a bag trying to find the one things I need.

I will definitely purchase Samorga organizers for future handbags that need it. The organizer is impeccably made and (in my opinion) worth the price. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives on the market, but I doubt their quality would compare.

My one complaint with the organizer is the time it took to arrive. Because Samorga is an independently owned company, the supply cannot always keep up with the demand. Since Samorga is (I believe) the only bag organizer on the market with such customizability and superior design, the brand has really taken off. This means that you might be waiting several weeks (or a couple of months) for your organizer, which can be a little frustrating.

On another note, however, Samorga has recently added shipping status and order tracking, so at least you’ll be able to get a better idea of when you’re item will arrive.

All in all, I’d recommend a Samorga to anyone who asks. When you spend your hard-earned money on a designer bag, the least you can do is keep it protected — and keeping it organized doesn’t hurt either!

Can this tote hold a laptop without feeling like it may break? I just bought this! Can it hold a decent amount of weight? Like I carry a laptop, a notebook and two pouches..
    Thank you so much!!

I often use this bag with my 13″ Macbook Pro, and it carries it very well. I will say, though, that the straps aren’t the thickest, so I can see a concern of overloading it. I regularly use all the items in this photo and often swap the iPad for my Macbook when I need my computer. When doing this, I haven’t noticed much strain, but I haven’t had the bag for long enough to speak to whether or not this will end up hurting the straps.

All-in-all, I’d guess it should be fine. That being said, you’ll have to judge for yourself when using it. If the bag starts feeling strained, maybe swap some of the items out!

      I hope this helps!

Thank you for this post! I bought this tote a few months ago and have been noticing slight dents in the leather, probably from filling it up with too many items. Just ordered the organizer, really hope it’s going to help. I also found that the bag looked weird and a little misshapen when I fill it up too much or with items that are too pointy. How long did your organizer take to arrive?
    Thanks for the tip!

      Hi Katharina,

When I first purchased the bag, I noticed the denting too! Specifically with items that had never concerned me before, like my Ray-Ban sunglasses case. Every time I carried the case, I’d notice denting on the outside of the bag from the case’s edge. None of this was ever permanent, but I worried it could cause damage if I left it alone. And this had nothing to do with over-stuffing! If there was an item with an edge that could reach the bag’s outer side, I could see it on the outside of my bag.

I think this problem arises because the bag is unlined, so it doesn’t have the extra protection from another layer. But the Samorga will become that layer! I literally never use my bag without the organizer. This is both because I want to protect my bag and because I love the convenience of being able to organize my items so well!

Hi! May I know roughly how long did the organizer take to arrive? Are you using international shipping? I’m living in Singapore so I would like to estimate the timing of the organizer before purchasing this bag.

Hows the leather and the inner of the bag holding up?

    Thanks!
    xoxo,
    Shermaine

Mine took about 5 weeks. I live in North American, though, so the shipping ate up a lot of that time.
The leather this far is holding up well. But I can’t say how it will hold up long term, yet.
      I hope this helps!
