With the warming weather and longer days, June is truly one of my most loved months of the year. It’s all about fresh air, pastel colors, and open-toed shoes, and I think my June favorites exemplify that.
I’ve had this perfume for a couple years now, and although it isn’t my most reached for scent, I love it in the early summer months. It’s named appropriately because it mixes beautifully with the fresh flowers scents that come with this time of year.
Even though I’ve recently acquired some new Prada shades, there’s just something about aviators in the summer. They scream beachy-waves and swimsuits, and as much as I’ve loved wearing my Pradas, when it comes to my day to day, my Ray-Bans are my go-to. See them styled here.
Before any date on my calendar tells me it’s summer, my Gigi sandals do. The day I first reach for them is the day I know that the winter blues are truly behind us, and it’s nothing but sunshine from here on out. I’ve owned numerous pairs of Gigis over the years, and it’s a style that I just keep going back to. It simple, easy, and I can wear them all day without feeling uncomfortable. Gigis feel like a flip flop but look like a sandal and who wouldn’t want that?
I don’t always splurge on higher-end makeup, but I’m so happy I decided to for this contouring/highlighting duo from Make Up For Ever. I’m pretty easy-going when it comes to my makeup looks so I search for products that are simple to use and that work. This product does both of those things. It’s on in seconds, it contours and highlights beautifully, and it last for hours without a problem.
Although I already talked about this polish in my Summer Style Additions post, I figured I should add it to my June favorites as well. I don’t mix up my polish colors all that often, and I tend to stick to more neutral tones when I do. This shade is perfect for me because it is very much a neutral, but with the slightest purple undertone.
I also included this new Gel Setter from Essie. I haven’t had too much time to try it out, but so far I’ve really been liking it. It’s not a total gel-polish replacement, but I’d bet it’s added an extra couple days to my most recent manicure.
For today’s post, I’ve taken my daytime look (see it here) and added heels and hat to turn it into something dressier. I wore this look on a date with my partner where we dined on a restaurant patio. I feel like the more elegant touches of the lace-up sandals and the floppy hat really add something to the casual outfit I wore throughout the day.
What I love about jeans and a short-sleeve blouse is that they ooze versatility. When you change up the accessories you get multiple looks in one. These are also the same jeans I wore in this outfit post. I tend to change out some of my darker denim for lighter shades in the summer months. These are new, and since they’re from the American Eagle Denim X line, they are incredibly comfortable.
I’m also wearing this Essie polish I talked about in my June Additions post. I was a huge OPI fan, but I’m finding the array of colors and accessibility of Essie too hard to pass up. Do you have any Essie polish recommendations? I’m on the hunt for some good summer colors!

When shopping for my wardrobe, I am constantly looking for wearability in my items. And because of this, simple pieces tend to get me the most excited.
As fun as it can be to wear bright colors and bold prints, a closet needs its staples. So when looking for key pieces to add to my wardrobe, I make sure they have the ability to be reworked as the seasons change. A plain blouse and simple pair of jeans can go a long way in your wardrobe if you style them correctly.
I find these Ray-Bans also ooze versatility. I’ve worn these sunnies with everything from cocktail dresses to sports-gear and they never feel out of place. I think this comes from a combination of the classic aviator style, as well as the black-on-black color that pairs well with my neutral wardrobe.
Because of this outfit’s versatile elements, it has the ability to work dressed up or dressed down. I went from a day in the city, walking for hours in sneakers and Ray-Bans, to a dinner date with more elevated accessories (see the dinner look here).
Find items that can work with everything, and you’ll never have to fight to make them work.
All I’m going to say about these Prada sunglasses is that I can’t put them down. I find they class up every outfit I pair them with, and I’m obsessed with their simple elegance.
I’ve also been loving this polka-dot dress lately. The A-line shape is effortlessly flattering, and the length hits me just right. The dress I’ve linked holds the same features. Though it looks a tad longer, so at 5’4 I’d probably order it in petite.
I’m using my Prada WOC, but I’ve taken off the chain for a clutch look. I absolutely love it for dressier looks like this. It holds my cards, keys, phone and a lipgloss. And sometimes that’s all you really need. I’ve had it for years and besides a few scruffs on the corners, it looks as good as new!
Finally, these heels are probably one of my most used pair of shoes. I think they’re the perfect height. High enough to elongate the leg and look flattering, yet short enough that my feet don’t ache the moment I put them on. I’m seriously considering adding a beige pair too.
There’s almost nothing better than the fashion trends that come with the change in a season.
And since June is the first month of summer, it’s easy to be tempted by all of the newest and coolest trends that come with it. But rather than shelling out loads of cash every time the weather changes, I’ve tried to stick to a few key pieces that will help elevate my closet for the coming months.
Here are my latest style additions:
Hats have the capability of elevating every outfit you pair them with. You can take a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, add a hat, and you’ve got yourself a complete look. So, as one of my new summer pieces, I added this hat from Talula to help shape my style into summer.
Just because I try not to buy into every trend each season, I reserve my spending on the one or two that I truly love. And if you follow me on Instagram then you know how much I love these sandals from Vince Camuto. Even though I chose them in black, the delicate lace-up details make them work for summer, but will also carry them into the future, fall season.
I’ve been a huge fan of Rayban aviators for several years, but I’ve been in the market for classic black shades that I can use when I’m going for a more polished look.
I’ve always been a lover of neutral nails. And lately, I’ve been especially obsessed with all shades of taupe. This taupey-grey Essie shade is no exception. It also happens to match my hat pretty perfectly, which doesn’t hurt.
