The Labor Day Edit

The Labour Day Edit

I know that Labor Day posts & sales are flooding your inboxes and filling the internet, but I’ve decided to add this edit because:

1) I, too, really shop the sales on Labor Day.

2) Labor Day is the perfect opportunity to get staple summer finds at great discounts, items that you know will work perfectly next year.

3) Since fall stuff goes on sale too, there is no better way to welcome the new season than with some new, weather appropriate items.

J. Crew, for example, has 25% off your order of $125 or more and 30% off your order of $200 or more. A sale like this is the perfect time to stock up on some of their great staples, like this cardigan.

Furthermore, sites like Boohoo that often have good sales running, create even greater sales to keep people interested. Right now, Boohoo is 50% off, so if you’ve been thinking of trying them out, now’s the time. I’ll definitely be placing an order, and I’m eyeing this coat that will come to less than $30 after the discount!

Sites like Nordstrom and Rebecca Minkoff also have sales on select items, and although these are often end of summer pieces (like this blush Rebecca Minkoff bag), there are also great fall items on sale, like these beautiful Sam Edelman boots. I already own them, or I’d be taking advantage of them at 50% off!

Happy Shopping!

The Fall Edit

The Fall Edit

Boohoo Duster

I have this duster in blush and to be honest, at $30, I’m thinking of adding it in this camel color too. It’s a great way to elevate a fall outfit.

Nixon Watch

It’s always nice to have a simple, gold watch in your wardrobe, and this one from Nixon is a perfect example.

Nadri Stud Earrings

How gorgeous are these studs? I love the idea of glamming up a look with something as pretty and sparkly as these.

Boohoo Skater Dress

I just ordered this dress and I can’t wait for it to arrive. I love burgendy, love a-line dresses, and love that this long-sleeved version will help keep me warm when it starts to get a bit cold out.

Halogen Lace-Up Flats

The lace-up trend was huge this summer and it doesn’t look like it’s leaving anytime soon, so I think these burgendy flats are the perfect addition to any fall outfit.

Steve Madden Booties

Everyone should have a good pair of black booties in their fall wardrobe, and these from Steve madden have a flattering heel (that isn’t too high), and they won’t break the bank in the process.

Tory Burch Perry Tote

I think this is a great alternative to the Saint Laurent tote I love. It doesn’t matter if you choose the Tory Burch option, the Saint Laurent bag, or a cheaper alternative, a simple black tote is almost a necessity in any fall wardrobe.

My Samorga Bag Organizer

Saint Laurent Tote

I recently purchased this Saint Laurent shopping tote. And as soon as I bought it, I knew a bag organizer was next on my shopping list.

As much as I love the open nature of the tote, the inability to organize my things inside just wasn’t going to work for me. Also, being an unlined bag, I feared that the items inside could end up damaging the leather, as I noticed certain objects creating indents on the bag’s exterior. Although it never had a lasting effect, I feared after time it could.

YSL Samorga Review

For those that don’t know, Samorga is an independently owned brand of bag organizers with tons of sizes and options for almost any bag you own. And although it took me a long time to decide which organizer I wanted, I knew almost right away I’d be buying a Samorga.

This was partly due to rave reviews of the organizers, but also because of the numerous options available. While most other brands only offer things like ‘small’, ‘medium’, or ‘large’, Samorga offers almost any size and color you can imagine.

Because this style of this Saint Laurent bag is rather new, Samorga doesn’t make an organizer for this specific design (although it does for many others, including the Louis Vuitton Neverfull and Speedy).

Therefore, after comparing numerous options, I chose this organizer, which is originally designed for the Hermes Kelly.

You might notice that this organizer is slightly smaller than the handbag’s dimensions. I did this, first, because I wanted the bag to keep it’s slouchy nature. If the organizer was bigger, it could press up and make it look box-like. Second, I chose this size because I also wanted to be able to slide my laptop in alongside it — on the outside of the organizer.

For these two reasons, I’m extremely happy with the size I chose and it’s functionality in my bag. I can fit all my necessities — and then some — and I’m never digging through a pit of a bag trying to find the one things I need.

Samora Organizer

Organizer: Samorga | Bag: Saint Laurent | Wallet: Prada (Tory Burch Option) | Coin Pouch: Prada | Pochette NM: Louis Vuitton | Sunglasses: RayBan

I will definitely purchase Samorga organizers for future handbags that need it. The organizer is impeccably made and (in my opinion) worth the price. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives on the market, but I doubt their quality would compare.

My one complaint with the organizer is the time it took to arrive. Because Samorga is an independently owned company, the supply cannot always keep up with the demand. Since Samorga is (I believe) the only bag organizer on the market with such customizability and superior design, the brand has really taken off. This means that you might be waiting several weeks (or a couple of months) for your organizer, which can be a little frustrating.

On another note, however, Samorga has recently added shipping status and order tracking, so at least you’ll be able to get a better idea of when you’re item will arrive.

All in all, I’d recommend a Samorga to anyone who asks. When you spend your hard-earned money on a designer bag, the least you can do is keep it protected — and keeping it organized doesn’t hurt either!

Top 5 Summer Essentials

SummerEssentials (1)

  1. Black Ray-Ban Aviators

I don’t know if there is a style of sunglasses that I like more than the classic 58-mm aviators from Ray-Ban. It’s funny, because when I was younger, I thought the style looked too intense on my face, but now I can’t get enough of it.

  2. Prada Wallet on a Chain

This has truly been my go-to bag of the summer. I know it’s black and doesn’t exactly scream sunshine, but its easy-breezy attitude is exactly what I want during long, hot days. I love that I can throw it on and wear it all day long. It takes me from casual days to formal nights, and it’s hard to find an outfit that it doesn’t go with.

  3. L’Occitane Lotion

I know lots of people rave about this lotion, and I guess I’ll have to be someone you add to that list. I’m pretty picky on the beauty items I splurge for — I have to really think they’re worth the higher price tag — but this lotion is worth it for me every time. As someone with notoriously dry skin, I try to always have it on hand

  4. Essie Polish & Gel Setter

Even though most people go for bright polishes during the summer, I tend to keep my colors more natural, and so I love neutrals with the slightest hint of color. This polish from Essie (Topless & Barefoot) is a go-to of mine, and I always top my polishes with the Essie Gel Setter to help extend the life of the polish.

  5. Rebecca Minkoff Georgina Sandals

I couldn’t show you my favorite summer items without including these Georgina sandals from Rebecca Minkoff. I think they bring an edge to some of my classic outfits, and I love that I can get away with them on slightly dressier occasions as well. They’re comfortable, easy, and go with just about everything in my wardrobe.
