Sometimes there is nothing better than throwing on a little black dress and some black leather pumps.
This look is designed to be office ready, but is also great for after 5 o’clock. That’s the thing about a simple look like this, it’s versatility is endless. To dress it up after work you can add a statement necklace and a clutch, and then you’re good to go.
I also have to mention my love for this Saint Laurent Shopping Tote. This YSL bag hasn’t gotten much attention on FFYH — yet — but that isn’t for a lack of affection. It honestly could be my favorite bag to date… and I have a feeling I’m not going to be able to put it down throughout the coming fall season. I love how it’s big enough for everything I need, but not SO big I have trouble lugging it around.
This lace dress from Banana Republic, in my opinion, is perfect for any summer or fall wedding. It’s bright, yet modest. And it’s also something that can be used again and again because lace never really goes out of style. Plus, the blue color is so beautiful, you’re sure to stand out in all the right ways.
I’ve kept my pairings for the dress simple in this look. I’m wearing my favorite black heels from Steve Madden, along with my Prada wallet on a chain. I’ve left the chain on but opted to use it as a clutch in this look. I think that the chain hanging at my side adds another dimension to the look.
You might also notice (though probably not because it’s quite dainty) the new necklace I received for my birthday. It’s from Adina Reyter and I also mentioned it in my birthday wishlist here. My boyfriend gifted it to me and I’m totally in love.
This outfit was from our last day in NYC, which was quite bittersweet. My boyfriend and I had a great time, the city was amazing and full of life, but work and family drew us away. The truth is, as much as we loved New York, certain aspects really made us appreciate home and our shrunk-down version of NYC, the city of Toronto.
In this look, I’m wearing my Winola lace-up sandals from Vince Camuto, as well as my favorite AE denim, and a blouse from Aritzia’s Talula brand that I’ve had for years. I’m also wearing my Gucci Soho crossbody bag, which was literally the bag I carried every single day while in New York City. It’s small so it doesn’t get too heavy on long days, but it’s also roomy enough to fit all my most-needed necessities.
You can see my other NYC looks here & here.
You might recognize this Forever 21 from a post I did earlier where I styled it for a dressier look. I talked about my love for the skater style — and it’s $20 price point — in the previous post, and my opinions haven’t changed much since.
I wore this on the hottest day of the weekend in New York and the dress was easy and comfortable, yet I never felt as though I was sacrificing style for comfort.
I’ve paired this look with my Sam Edelman Gigi Sandals, perfect in the summer heat, as well as my Gucci Soho crossbody bag, which was my go-to throughout my entire time in NYC.
My boyfriend and I travelled to New York City this past weekend to visit one of our best friends and also managed to get some site-seeing in at the same time. Unfortunately, we happened to arrive on one of the hottest weekend of the summer, but we didn’t want that to stop us from taking in the views.
This outfit is a combination of my American Eagle denim (also worn here), as well as my new Wilfred blouse from Aritzia that I’ve been loving (I wore it in a dressier post, seen here). I’m also wearing my Gucci Soho crossbody chain bag, which is from the same line as the more popular Gucci Disco Bag.
The nice thing about this Gucci bag is that it can be worn several different ways, from a clutch with the chain tucked inside, to the more casual crossbody, I find this is a bag I am reaching for more and more as I fully realize its versatility.
Finally, on my feet I’m wearing my Rebecca Minkoff Georgina sandals, which stayed comfortable throughout the day, despite walking over 12 miles through the city.
