This latest sweater-weather look features two of my favorite fall/winter staples: my Community Plutarch Sweater and my Stuart Weitzman Reserve Boots. The Reserve boots are exactly like the more popular 50/50 pair from Stuart Weitzman, but they have a slightly higher heel (which I actually prefer).
There’s something so classic about the simple, over-the-knee boot that keeps people coming back to it year after year. From the flattering length and simple design to the elastic back, this style of boot isn’t going anywhere. In fact, if you were ever looking to invest in a pair of boots, these (or a similar style of them) would definitely be the ones to choose.
I also love the chain strap of my Gucci Soho Crossbody Bag, because it pulls my Community sweater in, creating shape that otherwise wouldn’t exist.
With holiday parties coming, this Lush ‘Emily’ dress can be a perfect addition to your Christmas wardrobe. It’s flattering and comes in an array of colors. Also, it’s under $50! So, in my opinion, a total steal. In fact, I love this dress so much, I included it in my Fashionista’s Gift Guide.
I’ve paired the dress with my Louis Vuitton Pochette NM in Damier Azur, which stands out beautifully against the deep burgundy — it’s one of my favorite combos. Secondly, I’m wearing my Sam Edelman Yardley sandals, which I picked up on sale recently. I love them a lot, so much so that I kind of want them in every color! Depending on where you live, though, they might not work for Christmas parties. But they’re worth getting, if only to stow away for warmer days.
I’ve wanted to own these Cole Haan Tali flats for a ridiculously long time, but it seemed like it was never the right time. But then, when I saw them on sale, I finally took the plunge and I’m so happy I did. They are incredibly comfortable, stylish, and because of the stretchy top, fit perfectly to the foot (often I struggle with flats slipping off).
I’m also wearing these American Eagle jeans that I obviously love (you can see them styled here & here too), as well as a Loft blouse, and my Louis Vuitton Pochette NM in Damier Azur. I love how it adds dimension to a simpler look, and it goes absolutely perfect with the Cole Haan flats.
I know I haven’t been around this fall as much as I should have, but if it’s any consolation, this exact outfit has basically been what I’ve been wearing on repeat for the entire season. I love black denim paired with my comfortable and easy Sam Edelman Petty Booties (you can see them styled here too). The black on black look gives the illusion of an elongated leg that you’d get from a taller boot, but with the ease of an ankle bootie.
I’m also absolutely in love with this Aronson Sweater from Aritzia’s Wilfred Free line. It is incredibly warm and soft, and honestly, looks like it cost way more than it actually did. My top is also from Aritzia, and it was a favorite of mine during the summer months too (you can see it styled here & here as well).
Finally, I’ve finished my favorite fall look with my Gucci Soho Crossbody bag and my Burberry watch, both of which are on constant rotation in my closet all year long.
Here in Toronto, we’ve had several fairly chilly days, which makes me mourn for this look, and what might be the last sunny day we Torontonians will see for a while.
This outfit isn’t always the most flattering, but that’s a sacrifice you sometimes need to make for oversized fall clothing. Plus, this shawl has a way of bringing comfort with it wherever it goes. It doesn’t matter that this is a dressier look, with heeled sandals, because the shawl brings it down a level for casual date nights or a dinner out with the girls. The look is both thrown together, and yet put together all at the same time.
